TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER
// Chinatown Newspaper News Stand Installation //
Designed by Jon Lewis [UMI Workshop] for Chinatown Newspaper [Nella Media Group]
This newsstand is located on the Hawaii Pacific University downtown campus on Fort St. in Honolulu Hawaii. The phase ‘Take Me to Your Leader’ screams out over a saturated sea of clouds and smoke, symbolizing the ascent of an alien being. This newsstand poses many riddles on this pedestrian-only street, asking ‘Where is the Outpost?’ and ‘Who is UMI?’. This installation represents the second step in and ongoing artistic collaboration series between UMI Workshop and NELLA MEDIA GROUP.
UMI [Under Martian Influence] is the pseudonym of Jon Lewis. A young ambitious designer, who’s personal mission is “To Make Cool Shit”. His work exhibits a deep love for print, a tongue for copywriting, and a passion for craftsmanship.
